W376g Battery Life

Just got one and haven't made or received any calls yet but noticed that the W376g battery doesn't hold a charge very long. Does entering names and numbers in the phone book or using camera (lightly) eat up a lot of battery time? Or even just opening it and checking out the different features. It doesn't last for 7.5 hours or 10 days like they say. Otherwise, great phone. This is a very helpful website. Thank you.

My phone is less than a year old and the battery doesn't stay charged for very long..........not for 10 days like they say. I'm disappointed in that but otherwise a good phone.

Battery dying

Yes - I agree that the battery is dying very quickly. It's a great cheap phone - but I'm finding that the battery needs to be charged a couple of times a day - just not practical.

Thanks for your comments and compliment! As for your questions about the phone's battery life, your guesses are pretty much right on.

The screen being brightly lit does draw power. It goes dim after a few seconds to save energy. And, of course, the screen will be on when performing tasks like putting your contacts into the phonebook.

In addition, perhaps adding to the phonebook also uses a bit more power because you're saving information to the phone's memory.

Finally, cell phones use a lot of power if coverage is weak, and it has to frequently search for the signal.

Still, all that being said, I have noticed a couple of more complaints about this phone's battery life compared to some of the other handsets available like the LG600 and the T301g.
Perhaps I should include a note about this on the main review page.
