Turning off the phone

by Mary

Are you supposed to hit the power button to turn off the phone every time or just close the cover? If you power off then it takes a while to come back on when you are ready to make your next call. It goes through "searching for network" and takes a long time. Can't find this basic information anywhere in the manual. Thanks.

Another Simplistic Question
by: Mary

Does the W376g Motorola phone have a SIM card? The clerk set it up for me so I don't know what she did. Thanks.

On/Off Mode

Or, instead of pressing end/power button when finished with a call, can't you just close the cover and that ends the call but leaves the phone on? This is my first cell phone so I am really naive.

Don't shut down unless you have to
by: admin

Mary,

Thanks for your question. Normally you just end a call by pressing the red pwr/end button once and closing the phone. This keeps the phone on so that you can receive calls.

If you want to shut it down completely, then you do have to hold the power button down for a few seconds. When you start it up again, it does take a while to find the network.

As long as you can charge it every night or every couple of days, you can just leave the phone on, unless your daily routine requires you to be in places where they require you to turn off your cell phone.
