Tip for drying out phones such as W260g in uncooked rice

I own two W260g phones. One got wet, shorted the battery. I just happened to have an identical battery from a different Moto phone, but that phone was damaged beyond repair.

On a hunch I dried out the phone in uncooked rice for three days, put in the battery, charged it up and Woo Hoo, it came back to life as good as ever.

Now I have two good W260g's. It's a great phone.
I even got a 3rd W260g for my 83 year old mother as an emergency phone. Programed it for one touch dialing for her ease of operation. Now she calls everybody on it instead of using her land line.
