lg 430g backlight

lg 430g backlight

I am a new cell phone user - learning as I go and so far learning has been fairly easy. Because I am slow to make choices in the menu, etc. the screen goes dark before I'm finished. How can I lengthen the time the screen is lighted?

-------------
Hi Dee,

Go to Menu > Settings > Display > Backlight

There you can set how long the backlight stays on. You can set it to as little as five seconds and up to 3 minutes long. You can even set it not to go off until you close the flip phone.

You can also set the brightness of the screen.

The problem wasn't a problem !

Thanks for your advice ! When I came to the power off or not I didn't know what to do and when I called customer service, apparently she didn't know either so she said the phone wouldn't give me more than 30 sec. time on the display. After all of that, my son came in for a visit. He's a Sr. Admin.of his IT dept. He went thru the phone and features with me so I could understand the functions, etc. This review page is the best !!
Thanks for your input.

Turn Power Save Off
by: sb (admin)

On my unit, when I change the duration, it asks me if I want to turn off Power Save, and I have to confirm that. The Power Save function is directly accessed through the Menu > Settings > Phone > Battery Status. See if you can turn off Power Save and then adjust the backlight duration.

Did I get wrong information from customer service at tracfone?
by: Anonymous

Thanks for trying to help me change the backlight setting. The phone wouldn't allow me to change it. I called tracfone and the person who took my call said this model is set permanently for 30 sec. and cannot be changed? huh??? not according to what I've read on line and in the manual - what goes here?? so confusing to a new user !
