Samsung Jitterbug Accessories

Search This Site:

Look at the great selection of Samsung Jitterbug accessories for the Jitterbug J, the best big button cell phone available today.

In addition to the usual battery charger, there are two kinds of phone cases, a beaded lanyard and more. It simple to order directly from Jitterbug's website. They can send it to you right away and you don’t have the hassle of dealing with the salesman at an electronics store who is more used to selling gadgets to teenagers or college students.

Jitterbug Headsets

You can use either a regular headset with any Jitterbug phone or a Bluetooth headset with the new Jitterbug J.

You can use either a regular headset with any Jitterbug phone or a Bluetooth headset with the new Jitterbug J.

Regular Headset

The regular Jitterbug headset is actually pretty good. It has a microphone that reduces background noise so that the person you’re talking to can actually hear you, and the earpiece has also been redesigned so you can better hear them. Of course, if the inconvenience of the wires is important to you, there is a Bluetooth headset you can order.

Bluetooth Headset

While you can use almost any Bluetooth headset with your Jitterbug J phone, the Samsung WEP700 available directly from Jitterbug has been designed for offering the best voice quality using things like echo cancellation and noise reduction. After all, there’s not much point in getting a quality Jitterbug phone and combine it with a cheap quality headset. The WEP700 does cost $69.99. You should get it if you have signed up for one of the calling plans that give you at least 200 anytime minutes and 500 weekend minutes or if you have bought an additional minutes pack. This way you know you’re getting the most out of your Jitterbug Bluetooth headset purchase.

Since this is a powered device, you will have to charge it with the included charger.

Jitterbug Battery Charger

Speaking of charging, your phone usually comes with two Samsung Jitterbug accessories - the regular wall charger, and the car charger that’s currently included if you order online.

Both are fairly standard. Note that the wall charger for the original Jitterbug will not work with the new Jitterbug J. This shouldn't be a problem since you get one with every phone you order.

Car Charger

The Jitterbug battery charger for the car is another of the Samsung Jitterbug accessories designed to be easy to use. The grip helps you hold on to it when you insert and remove it from the “cigarette lighter” in you car.

In case the dog or cat eats the chargers, the wall charger costs $19.99 and the car charger normally costs $24.99.

Jitterbug Battery

The charging process itself doesn’t take very long, and one of the good things about Jitterbug phones is that because of the slightly larger size of the phone, they can include a longer-lasting battery. If you don’t use your phone much, you really can go a week or two before you need to recharge your phone. On the other hand, if you end up using the phone a lot, you can add an extra battery to your list of Samsung Jitterbug accessories, just in case. Since the battery unit fits on the outside of the phone, you match the color of the battery with your phone. Again, the batteries for the new J and the original Jitterbug are different.

No Jitterbug Charging Cradle Yet

The new Jitterbug J’s battery feature these outside metal contacts which seem to indicate that it could easily be used with some kind of charging cradle like you have with a cordless phone and was available for the original Jitterbug. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be one available yet for the new Jitterbug J and it does NOT work with the charging cradle, known as the Smart Charger, for the original Jitterbug.

Jitterbug Phone Cases

Rounding out the list of Samsung Jitterbug accessories are two choices in phone cases, vertical style or horizontal style, and a beaded lanyard that you can hang it around your neck.

Vertical Jitterbug Phone Holder

The vertical Jitterbug phone case is like a standard-style leather cell phone case which costs $19.99. It looks fairly sturdy and should last a while.

Horizontal Jitterbug Phone Holder

If you don’t want to keep the phone in a case at all, you can attach a beaded lanyard to it and put it around your neck.

The lanyard is made of translucent beads in an attempt to again add a bit of style. This does lead to thought about cool custom beaded lanyards with all sorts of funky beads. (Let me know if you know a place that might provide them.)

So even in phone cases and holders you have a nice choice of Samsung Jitterbug accessories.
