Boost Mobile's fun ringtone maker

I was all set to trash the prepaid Boost Mobile service for its confusing rates and what seemed like a horribly inept website which tried too hard to be hip, etc. Stumbling upon this changed my mind.

This tool lets you create your own ringtones for your Boost prepaid cell phone.

This is how it works: You are presented with a virtual DJ and six turntables, and you basically choose from a number of different "records" containing melodies, beats, voice overs, and sound effects which you slap onto these "turntables" and the RingDJ mixes it up for you.

And the result is, I have to say, hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing for about five minutes. I wish I could save the ringtone but the only way to do that is to send a download link to it via a text message to your Boost prepaid cell phone.

So forget whether the other prepaid cell phone companies offer MTV or whatever. If you're looking to your cell phone for amusement, try making a ringtone on a Boost prepaid cell phone!

Anyway, suitably softened up by this ingenious ringtone creator, lets go back and look at Boost with less prejudiced eyes.
