mp3 audio book on LG 500g
Has anyone successfully downloaded and e-book from the public library to their TracFone running Java? You have to have Overdrive, the library's eBook software.
So far the LG 500g phone is very good. The camera is better than my old favorite Motorola 376g.
If I can read eBooks from the library I'll be a happy camper. Thanks.

Hi Fran,
From looking at the website for the Overdrive audiobook software, it looks like the mobile version of the software is only available as apps for iPhone, Android, Blackberry or Windows 7 smartphones. You can however install the desktop version of the software on your computer.
Once you've installed the software, you can download the audiobooks to your computer. On a Windows computer, if you download the mp3 version of the books - they have a file extension of "mp3.odm" they will be downloaded to a directory:
My Documents > My Media > MP3 Audiobooks
You'll see an mp3 file there which you can transfer to the Music directory of the memory card in your phone. Then you can head the audiobook via the MP3 player on the phone.
I went ahead and did that with the BBC audio sampler that's available on the Overdrive site and was able to listen to it fine. You can see how it appears on the attached photo.
Since they're audio, the mp3 files don't take up too much space. So if you can use Overdrive on your computer to download the audiobooks, you should be able to put a ton of books on your phone for your listening pleasure.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
