No international text messaging with Tracfone

I have both written into customer support via the "contact us" link (email) & called the 800 # to verify the response via email cust. support given. Both said Tracfone is NOT capable of sending Int'l txt/sms. Yes you can call int'l. #, no you can't txt. I only had to check this because the sole purpose I bought a phone was to send int'l txt to canada & I kept getting the message "sending failed - Check SMS restrictions" So there you have it. A BIG...NO HUGE THUMBS DOWN FOR TRACFONE :(

You would think that the customer service agent would tell you that texting is not an option for out of county. However, the answer(s) I got were "you must be doing something wrong: or "punch in all these numbers and it should start working". What a bunch or liars!

I have a really old Tracfone that will text to Canada. I have a newer Tracfone that will not. When I asked the almost English speaking persons at Tracfone tech support to allow International texting on my newer phone, they told me (my verbiage) there is a problem with their program that allows my old phone to text Canada, but, if I am discovered texting Canada, they will cancel my service as texting Internationally is not in agreement with the Tracfone Agreement. Fortunately, Tracfone has no way of knowing what my old phone number is, and that, my fellow Tracfone owners, is why Tracfone is the phone of choice for the drug dealers. Live long and prosper.

Exactly same problem and similiar results in dealing with tracfone.
I found their email address (marketing) and found a symphatic ear but no joy. My old motorola flip allowed texts to Canada, but my new samsung 404g, slider especially purchased to text, wont work to Canada. Tracfone says"we are working with multiple carriers" and "may" add international texting later. I'm searching for another prepaid carrier to meet my needs.

that's why i bought my tracfone package...was to text to canada!!!!! THAT'S TERRIBLE

No text sent outside U.S.

I also bought the phone for this purpose and was told by the 'sales' staff that sure that can be done. Not accurate information since the first time I tried to send text to Canada it failed. Don't buy this prepaid service if you plan on sending text out of the U.S.
