While fewer people use these flip phones today, they still have their fans. Mainly they're a bit more comfortable for talking and easier to keep in your pocket or purse without worry about scratching the screen. With that being said, here are a couple of options you have.

Flip Phones

 The LG 440g is a 3G phone with text to speech in English and Spanish, and a  simplified senior mode. Like most of the other flip phones on this list, it lacks a slot for the memory card.

The Kyocera Kona from Virgin Mobile is compatible with PayLo plans and BeyondTalk plan. I liked its keyboard but wasn't too thrilled about a couple of other things.

Basic Phones

On the other hand, some people don't like flip phone and want something completely basic like the old Nokias. Here are a few basic phone.

The Samsung S150g and the S125g are basic phones with no camera. The S150g does have a 3g web browser and the ability to receive picture messages, while the S125g is purely talk and text - which also has its uses.

Basic Smart Phones

Now that smart phones are everywhere, you can also get basic no-contract smart phones for $100 or less. The only catch with these phones is that the monthly cost is quite a bit higher starting at about $35 for Virgin Mobile's BeyondTalk plan.
