Just Changed to Basic 19 Plan with Customer Service
Basic 19 plan with 200 minutes
I noticed that my usage on the Jitterbug Plus flip phone had gone over the alloted 50 minutes that I had assigned as I usually had used it just for testing. Overages cost 35 cents per minute, so I decided I had to do something about it. I had also received quite a few texts on the phone this month, and the basic plan doesn't have a text message allowance, but rather charges 10 cents per text.
Calling GreatCall Customer Service
So this Sunday morning, I called up Greatcall's customer service at 1-800-733-6632 and spoke to "Steve" in their billing department. After discussing my situation, I changed my plan to the $19.99 plan which gives 200 minutes. I also added a 300 text message allowance for $3.00 per month. I will also pay $3.00 per month for voicemail for a total after taxes of about $30 per month.
The best part about switching the plan is that it is supposed to wipe out my overage charges that had been building up this month and also eliminate the 10 cents per text charges that had also been pending.
The call was quick and painless and addressed my needs. The support person did ask whether I would be interested in the Go Plan with 200 minutes for $29.99 per month. This plan includes their 5Star service and a bunch of other things. Unfortunately, it didn't include the text message package so I decided to skip the Go Plan and get what I needed à la carte.
