How to download apps to Motorola EX124g?

I bought my first motorola EX124 just a few weeks ago. I would like to see if I could download any apps on it?

You can find some apps online. You just have to look for what I think are called j2me (or java mobile) apps. They are usually come as just .jar files or .jar and .jad files.

One way to find apps is to use your computer to go to getjar.com and look for an app you'd like. Once you find it and click the download link, you'll see a popup telling you to use your phone to go to m.getjar.com, click on the Quick Download link (all the way at the bottom of the page) and enter the 5-digit Quick download code and hit the "download" button. The application then downloads.

I just tested the process again to download an app called Sketch effect which lets you use the phone's camera to capture an image and then turn it into a sketch. It took about two minutes of airtime to go the site, hit the quick download link, enter the code, and download the app. Once you've downloaded the app, you should quit your browser and then go to Games & Applications to launch the app.

Now the problem with most of these free apps is that they have ads and in order to serve the ads the phone has to connect to the internet which costs you airtime. So in that sense, they're not really free.

You can also go directly to some of the creator's sites to download apps as well. For example, I downloaded the Bolt Browser from their own website so that I could demonstrate how to watch Youtube videos on the EX124g.

I haven't yet found a site for download java apps or games that does not require connecting to the internet.
