Good Prepaid Plan But Confusing Options

by Bill Moriarity

I've had Beyond Wireless GSM or Jolt (seems they go through regular name changes) prepaid plans for several years and have been satisfied with the coverage and price. However, they keep changing the options and prices for various plans.

For example, I am now using a 360 day plan for $50 that offers very few minutes but allows me to carry over the hundreds of minutes I have accumulated over the years. I really like this plan because it lets me use up my excess minutes and costs only $50 a year. When I called recently to renew my plan for another 360 days, I was told there were no longer any one-year plans offered and the only thing available is a 90 day plan for $20.

The Jolt website, however, says plans are available ranging from 90 to 360 days and from $10 to $200. Unfortunately only these general ranges are provided with no break down of specific plans and no way of obtaining additional information. Frustrating!

Beyond Wireless GSM-Jolt and their various incarnations need to clean up their act. Is the confusing, contradictory information an intentional ruse to elicit customers into choosing plans that are more lucrative for the company? Or is it simply because they have so many different companies under one umbrella that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing?

Either way, I have to get back to one of their web sites and look for additional information. And while I'm at it, I think I'll look into what some of their competitors offer.

Bill,

Thanks for the info. I have updated my page on Jolt and Beyond Wireless a couple of times but it's been awhile. It's good to hear from an actual customer or user.

Regards.
