EX124g - love it, but no ID on incoming text messages

Incoming text message on EX124g

Have the ex124g - love it, but haven't figured out how or why no I.D. on incoming text messages until after you 'view' and charge is deducted. Incoming calls have I.D., but why should we have to have a charge first if don't wish to accept incoming message? Is there a feature to set for identifying incoming text messages before accepting?

Yeah, this is a general complaint about Tracfone and not limited to the EX124g. One of the previous handsets (the LG 420g I believe) had a hack where you could see the message details on the external screen of the flip phone (the whole message sometimes). On this new touchscreen, however, I haven't found a way to see who has sent the SMS without using the 0.3 minutes of airtime to view it.

"there are very few complaints about this issue"

My new LG500g also will not identify the sender of a text until you choose to pay for opening the message.
I called customer service. They said, "There are very few people that complain about this issue."

I had a really old tracfone that didn't charge incoming texts AND you knew who sent the message before you opened it.

The company needs many more complaints before they will consider fixing the issue.
