EM326g texting cost

by Sydnee
(Tallahassee, Florida, USA)

This phone was a total disappointment! I was so excited to get this phone, thinking I was going to save loads of money. But, I quickly learned that wasn't the case. At all.

I got my phone and activated it, and sent a mass text to all of my friends, telling them my new number. The total came up to be about 30 dollars off my phone. Now, if it was $0.5, it would never be that much. So I soon found out it was 50 cents to send/recieve texts and a dollar a minute. Which is totally ridiculous, because the site clearly states it is 5 cents to send/recieve texts, and only 1 cent a minutes.

Also, the keys are horribly small and makes it almost impossible to text on this T301g phone. I've had this phone for about 1 month, and the buttons are coming off. I've dropped this phone a matter of 2 times.

Net10 has never charged 50 cents per txt or $1 per minute. It has always been 5cents for txt and 10 cents per minute. You just txted all your minutes away.

Disagree on the first part. You've got company on the second.

Hi Sydney,

Thanks for your comments! I have to say that I think I disagree on the first part of your complaints. Each unit on a Net10 phone is worth 10 cents. So when you activate your phone you get $30 worth of airtime which is equal to 300 minutes or units. Now each text message costs 0.50 "minutes" to send or receive, but that's only 5 cents not 50 cents.

So I think what happened (I could be wrong) is that you texted your friends (lets say about 60 of them) That would have subtracted 30 units or $3.00 worth. That's not nothing but it's not $30.00 either.

If that wasn't the case, you should call up Net10 support.

As for your other complaints about the phone buttons etc., you have some company there. A few other people have complained in this section about the build quality of the phone.

Thanks again for your comments.

Regards.
