Could not unlock Sim Card

Just bought the phone 8/16/08. Set it up and it works great, but i tried to put security code in locked up sim card. Didn't work and was told it can take between 3 to 7 business days to get a new card then call tech support that's only thing i don't like now i have to wait for between 3 to 7 business days before I can use the LG300. Tech support, they were great, but they couldn't unblock my sim card.

I'm beginning to think this a scan on Net10's part. I purchased a phone for my granddaughter. She locked the phone with a password and then couldn't get it unlocked. I called, got someone VERY hard to understand (as usual) and spent well over 20 minutes on the phone only to have her tell me she would have to send another phone. BUT she said they would only do this once. If she locked it again and and was unable to get it unlocked, we would have to purchase another phone. My granddaugher found someone was hacking into her messages, locked it with a password and, of course, now she can't get it unlocked.

It's a rip-off, I believe!!!!!

Do you need to buy a new sim card or just wait?
meaning, will it be unlocked after the 7-8 business days?
and do you have to call in to Tech Support to notify them?

Thanks for your comments about the Net10 Sim card. Yeah, it's probably easiest to just get a new SIM card. I had to get a new one from Tracfone (same company). I had moved and they couldn't update the phone number via their software. They actually sent the new card via Fedex overnight which was a pleasant surprise.

I don't usually try to unlock phones, and the LG 300 plus airtime card offer is good enough for me.
