Can't make font larger in text messages on samsung sgh t401g

I need to know how to make the words bigger, in text messages.

It doesn't look like you can change the font size on the text messages. The only setting for changing the font size that I found on the T401g was for the display when dialing numbers.

As a comparison, I looked at the font size adjustments on the LG 900g and the LG 620g. On those phones you can adjust the font sizes of the menus and commands, but the size of the letters on the actual text messages does NOT change there either.
