Can't get rid of vibrator with ringtone

Q: I followed instruction on getting a ring tone instead of vibrate. Can't get rid of the vibrate feature. What else can I do?

This question was asked by Ron. I wrote back with the answer below.

A: You have to go deep into the menu like so:

Menu > Settings > Audio & Ringtones > Ringtones > Alert Type

and choose the option for "Ring" rather than "Ring and Vibration" or "Ring after Vibration".

Then there shouldn't be any vibration unless you turn the ringtone volume all the way down.

Didn't Work

However I received a response that this didn't work. After another round back and forth, Ron himself wrote back with the solution that worked for him:

Solution

"The cure is press the # twice and the vibrate only disappears and now the phone rings."
