Can't call these countries

Here are a few destinations people have asked about. I've combined them into one page. The answer for all cases basically is to buy a separate international prepaid card for calling that particular destination and use it with your Tracfone. This means you will use your Tracfone airtime as well as the prepaid card airtime.

Can't Call Syria?

I want to do an international call to Syria, but it does not work. How can i do it?

Unfortunately, Syria is not on the list of countries you can call directly.

Why no Calling to South Africa?

I'm a little confused as to why South Africa is not on the list of international call countries? Kenya's there..

Hi,

Tracfone uses Auris Technology for arranging the international long distance. I think it depends on whether Auris are able to negotiate a low enough rate with the country carriers so that they can maintain the "free" international calling where you're only charged for your Tracfone airtime.

What about Norway?

I tried calling a Norwegian number cell to cell and it will not work. Is there a way to get this access?

You can only call landlines in Norway, not cell phones. The reason for this is that calling cell phones in Norway is too expensive for Tracfone to still make a profit on the minutes you purchase from them.

The cheapest prepaid card I found for calling Norway cell phones was about 14 cents per minute.

Philippines? No.

Hi, I'm from the Philippines and my brother who is in the USA, sent me two each TRACFONE SAMSUNG T105G units so we can communicate with each other.

However, when I placed my local prepaid sim card (Globe Telecoms is my service provider)... a "SIM LOCK CODE-1" is prompted when I turned it on.

Please advise me what to do... or appreciate if you can please email me the SIM LOCK CODE-1.

You can't use Tracfone handsets outside the U.S. except in Puerto and maybe the U.S. Virgin Islands, but I'll put your question up in case someone can help you.

Further, the Philippines is not on the list of international destinations that you can call with a Tracfone.

Can't call Nepal

I am having very difficult time to make a call to NEPAL. I have followed the 800 numbers and the person who answer my question he even don't know country of Nepal. So why should should I waste time and money?

Nepal is NOT listed as an available International Destination so you can't call directly using the 800 access that Tracfone provides.

Can't Call Panama Cell phones

I am having a very difficult time trying to contact my friend on a cellular phone in Panama.

Only calls to landlines in Panama are available through their service. To call cell phones there you need to use a separate calling card. These cost about 5 cents per minute in addition to your Tracfone airtime.
