Cannot Call Canada with my Tracfone

I followed the instructions to the letter and when I dialed for Montreal, a voice said "Your call cannot be completed as dialed." I did the exact same thing on the second time I called, following the prompts while making the call and voice repeated the same thing while telling me to call customer service by dialing 611.

Am I calling a bogus number, or is there something wrong with the phone connection itself?

I'm not sure what's going wrong. I just checked using my LG Tracfone, and I was able to dial Canada fine through the international long distance number. Here is how I dialed the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (514-285-2000)

1. Dial Tracfone's international long distance number: 1-800-706-3839

2. Press "1" for English or "2" for the Spanish instructions.

3. Dial 1 + Canadian number: 1-514-285-2000 (for the museum).

The phone rang and the museum's answering machine picked up.

The number that I called to Canada was, in fact, a bogus number. The call I did to the Montreal Museum, which was suggested to me by sb(admin), worked. Judy, your phone number may either not be connected yet or it is a bogus phone number. If you do have a legitimate phone number, try following the instructions that sb sent to me in the comment back in February, replacing the museum phone number with the one that you're calling, and it should work.

Not to cell phone

I also was not able to connect to a number I dialed in Canada. A message came back to me that I was calling a cell phone and tracfone would not connect to it. I tried other numbers and it worked. I am going to try to get access to dial from Canada to the USA for when I will be there in October.

I tried calling your number to the museum and it worked. The number that I had sent to me, didn't work. It couldn't connect to the other party that I was calling. I just wanted to know if the number that was sent to me was a bogus number.

Did you try the public number for the Montreal Museum as I detailed above? If it worked for you (as it did for me), that means calling Canada works. If not, then there may be some problem with your phone.
