Can I Buy Air Time For My Tracfone By Internet If I Am In Mexico?

I saw this question on a forum and I thought I would post it here in case anyone knows the answer. This could come up if you're away, and your minutes are about to expire. Note, you cannot make calls with your Tracfone (or Net10) phone while in Mexico.

My first thought is that you can probably use your USA credit card to buy the airtime from their site, but they may not be able to send the minutes to your phone. Still, as long as your phone number is in their system as having bought airtime, you service should remain active once you get back to the U.S.

Any thoughts?

I had this happen last spring. I added airtime online while in Mexico. When I realized the phone needed to be turned on to receive the minutes I got a little worried. After a couple of phone calls to Tracfone, they informed me that the minutes would be sent to the phone when I turned the phone on in the US.

3 months later...
Phone was working and updated with the minutes when I returned to the US. The service end date had not been updated so had to call Tracfone again, but they easily sorted it out...

that is a lie. i know for a fact. my husband and i both has tracfones he's in mexico and i'm in la we call each other every day on local calls. he calls me while i'm in la and i calls him whil he is in mexico.and it works trac phone has a connection with at&t on international calling. on certain phones
